Hydrate This Summer.

With summer heat stronger than ever right now I can’t tell you how many people have been making comments about how their hair is dry as eff so I thought it would be greatly appropriate to write a “hydration” review.

Whenever I notice that  my hair is a little dull or near that straw-like stage I go through these simple steps and my hair is a thousand times silkier, no frizz, no knots.

  1.  Organic Root Stimulator HAIRepair Vital Oil for Hair & Scalp “Vital oils for hair and scalp with grape seed and sweet almond oils for dry hair and scalp.” So before bed I will take a shower, towel dry my hair, brush it and put about 4 tbsp starting from my ends to my roots then I spray my hair lightly with a spray bottle of water to make sure the moisture will really lock in the oils by running my fingers through my hair afterwards. Then I put my hair in a bun and go to bed. If your hair is on the thinner side then I would only use 2tbsp throughout hair. Then after I wake up I take a shower, only using shampoo. After I get out of the shower I towel dry my hair again, leave it down and let it air dry. The more the hair dries the silkier it will feel. It says for scalp as well but I didn’t notice much of a difference there. I highly recommend this to anyone who has been swimming a lot or over using a hot styling tool to get those beach waves in your hair.
  2.  Beyond the Zone- Rock On  Dry Shampoo,  For those who are taking advantage of the wave/curly look this summer. I recommend using this… aaand maybe bringing a hair tie when you lounge out in the pool this summer. Using dry shampoo, especially this– at least to me– is going to save you so much time getting ready to go out. It’s going to save you money because you’re not going to be shampooing your hair as much therefore using styling products less frequently. If you’re one of those people whose hair gets oily after six hours of wearing hair spray, I recommend using dry shampoo to give you volume opposed to weighted down hair spray. Needless to say only using a volumizing powder on your roots and spraying dry shampoo when they begin to need attention will also prevent buildup. (I’m not advising you to not  shower for a week, but you don’t have to wash your hair every single day. And I typically use  Ion Volumizing Root Lift but I run my fingers down my hair after using it so it holds my style better as well.) I actually wash my hair every three days, mostly because the color and length it is right now, it also changes up my schedule so when I wash my hair I know which body soap to use as well. They say that effective products will become adapted if they’re used frequently which is also my reason for not shampooing every single day. Anyways, dry shampoo, whether its this one or not, is a must.
  3. One’n Only Argan Oil styling cream, always good to have before blow drying hair or wrapping it up. This will eliminate frizz, add shine and condition your hair throughout the day.  Not to mention helps with any  post-shower tangles.
  4. Silk Elements Megasilk Heat Protection Spray. Any protection spray. It’s pretty self evident why. This will keep your hair moisturized and keep it’s natural shine all while preventing frizz and damage. I feel if you apply a little bit everything, here and there, where its most needed your hair will be just fine.

I know sometimes we think we really need to go out of our way and make some organic concoction from the kitchen but honestly, it’s just helping your hair adapt to whatever you’re trying to manipulate it to do. It’s really not that hard and it’s effective near immediately. Sorry if you thought there was going to be more, but that’s really all there is to it within my routine.

Oh lastly,  I typically only use conditioner in the shower once a week, this also prevents my hair from being overly oily. Depending on how dry and/or how fast you produce your natural oils it may need to be more frequent.

*Forgetting your hair trimmed at least every other month is also a major factor with dull, broken, or damaged hair.*
All of these items were purchased at Sally’s Beauty Store.

Daily routine.

 DAILY ROUTINE:10418981_263875813805182_8230456545957301802_n

So due to my drug store review and No Makeup Monday’s being prolonged. I figured I’d do the routine I was talking about in my morning routine. I did substitute some of the mentioned products with the new ones from the Sephora haul.

Obviously starting off with a clean face, I apply my Tart amazonian clay foundation. Something I did forget to mention in the review for this product is unlike many other foundations, this one reminds me more of a mouse. It’s very creamy, not so “liquidy” so to say. I find it requires less of a build up to get the kind of coverage you want. Yet it still is build-able if you have a stubborn spot.

From there I used my Benefit Cosmetics High Beam, I wanted to use this instead of Hourglass because I wanted to show you guys what I meant when I said it makes your skin come alive. I apply it under my eyes, in between my eye brows, cupids bow and under my lip. Like I said, it makes your skin look hydrated and glow like crazy. After using this I just applied my Mac studio finish lightly over it all. Wasn’t going to go all out with the blush today either. Which is why I like High Beam or any high lighter for that fact, because you brighten your upper cheeks you still get that defined cheek regardless.

Following that I apply my Tarte gel liner, I wanted to use my Benefit Cosmetics they’re real push up liner, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere right now so boo. Still, extremely clean and defined. One thing I wanted to point out as well. Sometimes people have little quirks to their routine, before I apply my eyeliner I curl my lashes. I don’t know if other people do this, but I wanted to bring it up. I curl them so when I do my liner I can see if theres any neglected hairs or if it looks dull compared to the liner. If I do need to touch it up then it’s better good to know before rushing mascara immediately after curling it, sometimes, not going to lie, rushing is a let down. So while I apply the liner I let it kind of relax and do its own thing, re-curl if needed afterwards and add my Tarte amazonian clay mascara.  ( Like I said, it’s extremely natural looking)

Then the eyebrows. The most pickiest part of the routine. With my Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade  I attempt (at this time) to make my eyebrows look maintained whilst growing them out. Today was one of the better days.

Typically I would apply my Urban Decay all-nighter setting spray from here. But since I’ve been on this huge lip gloss/lip stick/lip butter kick. I wanted to show you guys the Buxom lip foundation (Picture #5) and Bite’s pigment pencil (Picture #6) Like I said they’re very subtle yet bring the look together.

7 quick steps, takes about 15 minutes. All make up brushes used in this routine are from Sigma. I am currently in the process of washing them right now so once they’re dried I will post my brushes that I use on the daily.

My Summer Review.

Hi all! Today I’m reviewing my favorite summer products! Enjoy! photo Website314_zps03bdbbcd.jpg
#1. Benefit Cosmetics longwear powder shadow Nude Swings ($20). I am thoroughly impressed with the application and pigmentation in this shadow. Yes, it is true, it is a lighter pinkish gold. Some people like it, some people complain about it. I personality love the volume of color yet it’s still subtle. It’s a very casual shade, but when I swatched it on my hand upon receiving the package that uncertainty of spending $20 on an eye shadow was eliminated. This is a totally great color for spring and summer, I’m actually kind of upset I didn’t purchase it sooner. Definitely one of my favorites this season. Also, one thing Benefit is good at is making you wish everything came in cute packaging such as their line. Very inviting. In the photo of my make up, above the Urban Decay pallet, my lid color is Nude Swings. Sorry for not swatching it for you! Promise it’s a good find! Let’s get into it.

#2. Urban Decay’s Naked3 Pallet. ($54.00) photo Website324_zpsa7a7c93a.jpgOnce again, no complaints. I looked at the color scheme of this pallet and the first thing that came to mind was “YES! SUMMER!” Now, when I say summer I mean the playful/Sunkist look that screams “I’ve found a middle ground between cosmetics and attempting to be as natural looking as possible.” This color scheme is fabulous. I really appreciate that it’s also multi-seasonal, I have lots of winter looks in mind BUT we’ll just focus on Summer for now. By the way, no touch ups have been necessary and remains fresh looking throughout the day. GOD SEND. Brown eyes, meet your guardian angel. My baby’s POP like crazy. Ultimately, when IM looking for a product, I want it to be as earth toned as possible. If it doesn’t remind me of something natural, chances are I’m going to give it a big fat thumbs down. Only con in my book is that I’m not a big fan of extreme glitter. Dust, Buzz and trick are kind of a pain in the butt to apply without investing in transforming gel.

#3. NYX Blush in Dusty Rose. ($5.00)  Stumbled upon it while watching my favorite artist do a haul on youtube. Took me a few months to commit but wow, it’s even prettier in person. My cheeks, dusted with rose indeed. Also wearing it in the provided photo above the Naked3. I never used to be a blush person until just recently, but whether you like the pale look where the color’s barely just peeking out, or the bold sculpted look, this one regardless looks completely amazing. I was not let down. I looked forward to this shipment simply because I finally committed to this product and wanted to see for myself. Rose gold, my goodness, gorgeous is gorgeous. photo Website308_zpsaaa79938.png

#4. OPI- Taupe-less beach/ Berlin there done that nail lacquer ($9/each) . I nearly died and went to heaven when I saw these colors. Like I stated, when being reminded of natural colors, one tends to get very excited. Now Taupe-less is more of a pale tan color but both are very similar. Berlin there however is more of a darker tan/purple (tanvender?). I have been on an OPI kick lately, rebuilding my nail polish collection. OPI is so flawless. photo Website331_zps9bfa4c1e.jpg
# 4.2 OPI- Bubble Bath. Always make use of the color as a base. It’s a good find. Also, if I’m feeling the pinky nude at the time, I just apply a second coat with a matte top coat. Call it a day and still feel precious. It’s a very clean look. photo Review003_zpsdd3e5570.jpg
#4.3 Sephora Formula X- Brazen ($12). I’m not entirely sure what specifically stood out about this color and drew me to it as bad as it did other than I have been trying very hard to get out of my dark color phase. I guess when I stumbled upon it I felt that it stated “I’m trying to keep an open mind about all color to stimulate my mind…” The application is really nice, I would consider this just as a classy pink. I think it’s colorful enough to get a compliment but not that outrageous in your face that common pinks usually are. Product last a good while. I think it’s worth a buy.
Side note: I read somewhere that using a lighter color as a base makes your nail color really pop. And ever since I have been testing that theory. Holy cow (again), I’m really happy with my outcomes.

#5. Philosophy- Berry Lime Martini ($27). If you haven’t smelt this already, get with the program sister/brother. This product was another that was discussed in a haul I had watched, I had to try for myself. I am not let down by this at all. It is such a sweet, candy-type of smell. I absolutely adore this shower gel. Not to mention the squeaky clean feeling you have after using it. For the price, which I know seems crazy to spend on a shower gel but the size of the bottle it’s entirely worth it. You probably will not see me do another shower gel for another six months. Due to the next one on my list as well…

photo Website297_zpsc0f3cd49.jpg  #6. Soap and Glory- Clean on me. ($16) photo Review001_zpsb827c5c2.jpg Yet another I had to investigate due to the hype. Now, I have read countless reviews/watched plenty of Monthly favorites and lots of people stated that they enjoyed the smell of the wash. Though in my opinion, it’s nothing special. It doesn’t necessarily smell disgusting or rancid. It just doesn’t stimulate my fancy like most people I guess. However… The way this wash makes you feel is 100% worth putting up with the smell until you wash it off. “Creamy” is an understatement. My skin is ridiculously hydrated and it even seems like when I’m due for a shave it even conditions my arm or leg hair. Which is great, because then it’s a smother shave. 4 out of 10 for smell. But how effective is this product? They got this down. Soap and Glory, you keep impressing me. Thank you. PS: This totally helped my skin not peel after I received a sun burn, using this every shower actually helped it heal.

Whelp…. That pretty much wraps it up guys. I really appreciate you taking the time to support me. I hope you enjoy visiting my site. There is a lot more to come and I would appreciate if every single one of you to keep walking with me on this transitional time of my life. After all, I’m doing this for you guys. I seriously couldn’t even wait for the website to be complete before doing one of these. Any suggestions, questions or concerns, let me know! Thank you, again. Like I said earlier in the post, I had to stop going to a certain site because I was running out of new products to get. I’m constantly trying new things. I’m thinking my next review will be a warning review. Also, I do write reviews on Sephora.com as well. You can find other reviews I’ve done Here. I will be taking on that challenge sometime tomorrow and throughout the week. I will post to my Twitter whenever there is a review update, for the next few weeks they will be posted to Sephora while I get the website finished. Be sure to check back, feel free to parooze my reviews on Sephora and stay in touch via social networks.
XOXO,
Krysia.

The next review will be Makeup Geek cosmetics.
